I was
raised with strong family values and integrity by my parents
Lura and Dick Boomer. Dad is a retired chemist and mom is a
retired school teacher. I
learned a lot from both of them—dad taught me to
love sports—particularly pro baseball and football,
as well as participating in sports including baseball, track,
tennis, and bicycling. I also learned how to paint a house,
mow the lawn, and how to calculate complicated calculus and
chemistry problems. My dad is a saint. He is one of kindest,
caring, and compassionate people I know. I am hoping that
just a little of that rubbed off on me.
Mom taught me how to run a tight ship—whether it
is in the home or on the job. I learned organization, list-writing,
prioritization, and multi-tasking. My mom is also a great
cook and can fix anything. So I learned how to cook, sew,
and unplug a toilet! She is a problem-solver, driven to complete
anything she sets her mind to. She is strong-willed and accomplishes
whatever she sets her mind to. I believe that she strongly
influenced me in this area and has helped me become who I
am today because of these values she instilled in me early
on in life. |
