Focus …inspirational thoughts from Ross & Marion Hauser |

Leg
of a Race
Why do we do races or train for various athletic events?
One of the many reasons is that the people at the races
inspire us. This picture was taken at the Three Rivers
Triathlon. Very humbling…isn’t it?

It is always amazing to see what we can accomplish
if we put our time, energy and talents into something,
isn't it?
What are you working on? Do you have some goals you
want to accomplish? You do? Great! Go for it with gusto!
What are we working on? We are working on a new medical
journal. Yes, you heard it right! We are starting our
own medical journal: The Journal
of Prolotherapy. The
mission of The Journal of Prolotherapy is to educate
the world about the life-changing effects of Prolotherapy.
We have a passion for getting people out of pain and
getting them back to doing the things they want to
do. We want people to know that there is hope for their
painful conditions; that their lives can be changed.
The Journal of Prolotherapy provides a medium whereby
for both physicians and patients can tell you their
amazing life-changing stories. For more information
see www.journalofprolotherapy.com.
What is your passion? Set your mind to it and you will
be amazed what happens! Remember, everyone had to start
somewhere! So why not start now?

Why Single Focus?
If you were going to sum up your life into one single thought,
one single focus, what would it be? Are you known as “the
nice guy”, “the computer person”, “the
nurse”, “the triathlete”, “the religious
gal”? What is your single main focus in life?
We recently
started a new bible study with four of our friends on the book
of Romans, one of the books in the New Testament of the Bible,
written by the Apostle Paul. The first lesson was an overview
of the book of Romans. At the end of the first lesson, we were
asked to summarize what we wanted out of the bible study for
our own lives. This entire study will take us about one year,
so this would be a fairly long term goal. Most of us said that
we wanted to have the type of “single
focus” like the apostle Paul.
Many years ago we read a secular book about the people who
had most influenced the world.. It was by no means a religious
book. The person ranked Paul as the most influential person
who was ever born. Muhammed, the founder of Islam, was second.
Jesus Christ was third. The reason the author chose Paul as
more influential in the world than Jesus was because Paul took
the message of Jesus to the world. He brought it to Rome (thus,
the book of Romans) and eventually the emperor of Rome made
Christianity (Catholicism) the official religion of the Roman
Empire. Kind of interesting, eh?
The book of Romans starts out, “Paul, a servant of Christ
Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel
of God”… This is the way Paul introduces himself
in the letter. In the book of 1Corinthians he writes in 2:2, “For
I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus
Christ and him crucified.”
What does this tell us? Paul had a singular focus which was
to preach and teach about Jesus Christ and him being crucified
for forgiveness of people’s sins. Whether or not you
agree with the actual message Paul preached, we all should
admire his single focus. His focus changed the world, to the
point that he may have been the most influential person to
ever walk on the face of the planet.
How does a person get a single focus? What is involved? How
do you get a single focus in life? In business? In your marriage?
In sport? Marion and I will be writing our thoughts on a regular
basis and we hope that they will not only help us in keeping
a single focus for ourselves, but that they will help inspire
you to be all that God intended for you as well.
